Lathe Machinists-- Precision NARDINI 1640, I offer to you one of the best lathes I have ever used.I bought this many years ago when I opened my Gunshop.Though it may not be "Brand New" It has very low hours of use, some lathes are used all day long in machine shops. Most anything you need to do as far as lathe work for hanguns, rifles and shotguns, this will take care of it. Consider all the barrel threading that will be in demand with the "Silencer" regulations easing up.Lathe has optional TAPER ATATCHHMENT so you can put whatever # taper on hunting and sniper rifles. I will list the finer points of this lathe so it will be easier for you to take in,,--------- NARDINI 1640E Engine Lathe Precision tool room quality 16" swing and 40" between centers Removeable Gap Bed Two speed High And Low / plus another set of gear for headstock ( I have never used them) Easy to understand operation and ergonomic operation. 6 3/4 Horsepower 3 Phase Dorian/ Aloris Quick change toolpost 3 jaw and 4 jaw chuck Steady Rest Follower Rest Coolant System Taper Turning Attatchment One other Custom Item I Made Myself--- Machinery is sized based on the avarage height of a man---I am 6 feet 3 inches tall. I wanted the lathe to have the height of the chuck centerpeice and tailstock center to be even with my elbows when I was standing strait up-----Believe me after a while bent over working on a machine ,your'e back will let you know it. This is how particular I am about things. I built to the size of the lathe base--2 pads or lifts or spacers--Whatever you want to call them--built frame out of all new steel 4" heavy channel with 1/2 " steel plate, painted to match lathe,You can tell from picture, lathe has litte use and has been taken care of Lathe also has emergency electric brake---Hit the big red button--and the spindle stops then,,,NOT another revolution---.OH--I almost forgot to mention--this lathe is manufactured with TIMKEN BEARINGS--- I think most that reads this know they are the finest tou can buy. And is has a tag attached to the front of the lathe stating that they use TIMKEN Bearings------------
Lathe is hooked up and running so you can check it out. LOCAL PICKUP OR YOU ARRANGE SHIPPING. I TRULY DO NOT WANT TO PART WITH THIS BUT AS OF NOW,I HAVE NO PLACE TO KEEP IT---- This Lathe today would cost around $18,000.00------------SERIOUS OFFERS CONSIDERED----------
