President James Madison was ill prepared, and his naval forces were near extinction when he entered a war with the mightiest nation in the world.

Detailed accounts of battles, both on land and sea within this text give light to the harshness and reality of war.

The men who fought during the War of 1812, on both sides of the battle line, need to be remembered for their service to their country. Especially, those who gave their lives for the freedom of their Nation.
